Potato dopeyaza Recipe: Bengali meal

The recipe we will talk about today is potato dopeyaza. It is a common recipes in Bangladesh. This Bengali meal is very tasty and delicious to eat.  You can eat it with bread, rumali bread or fried rice.

Here's what you'll need to do to make this Bengali meal Potato recipe:

  • 400 grams of potatoes (You can increase it as per your need)
  • Tomatoes
  • Onion
  • 3 tablespoons refined oil.
  • Salt (Quantitatively)
  • Turmeric Power (Quantitatively)
  • Chili powder (Quantitatively)
  • Coriander powder
  • Cumin powder
  • Water
  • Sugar


Making process of this potatoes recipes: 

Turn on the gas and first put 3 tablespoons of refined oil in the pan. Once the oil is hot, fry the potatoes for a while. If it is a large size potato, divide each into four parts, if it is medium, you can use 2 parts and if it is small, you can use each without cutting.  Add salt, turmeric, and chili powder while frying the potatoes. You can cover them and fry them for quick cooking but Shake lightly from time to time.  Keep frying all the potatoes till they turn brown. Put out them from the pan.


Then lightly fry a few tomatoes in the oil and put out them from the pan.


Now add some whole cumin and onion in this oil and stir for a while. Cut a medium sized tomato and put it in. Then add two teaspoons of ginger garlic paste. Shake them for a minute. When all the fried and tomatoes are melted, add half a teaspoon Turmeric Power, half a teaspoon  Cumin powder, half a teaspoon  coriander powder, half a teaspoon  red chili powder and one glass water.


Shake for a while, then add a quantitatively amount of salt and mix well. Add a little amount of sugar while seasoning. Once the spices are added, add the previously fried potatoes. Mix the potatoes well with the spices. Then cover and leave for about two minutes. After two minutes, pour water in it. You don't have to give too much water, you have to give the amount of water so that the recipe is thick. Then cover again for a while.


After 5 to 6 minutes, when the potatoes are slightly cooked, add some raw chilies and Chop an onion. When the potatoes are well cooked, add the fried tomatoes two to three minutes before removing from the pan and then add some coriander leaves. Mix the tomatoes and coriander leaves well and after a while turn off the gas stove and take it out of the oven. Now our potato dopeyaza recipe was made.
